Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Wonderful decor with elaborated woodwork, birdcages, mandarin trees and two enormous branches encased in glass. Service was prompt and efficient. Their Peking duck took me back to Beijing when I visited years ago. The skins had the same wafer crisp texture which melts in your mouth. There are only two restaurants in Sydney I visited can achieve that. The meat was succulent and moist, it was very authentic. Other dishes were ok. Some good and some bad. Good ones were Mustard Sauced Duck Web, Soy Sauce Pig Hocks and Fried Rice with Meat & Vegetables. The most unimpressive dish was Imitation Crab Flavour Egg. The menu photo was deceiving for there was no match to the dish was served apart from that fancy crab shaped bowl. That dish is supposed to cook the egg whites until they fluff up into clouds that look like crab meat. What we got was just a bowl of egg drop soup. One standout dish was the dessert Flaming Sticky Rice Cake as Honeycomb Briquette. It comprised of fried black rice soaked in fruit and brandy then lit on fire at your table for the theatrical presentation."
"Nice northern Chinese food. Roast duck is the specialty here, so it is a must order. It is freshly roasted and crispy - the skin itself is not overly sweet. Ox tail was very flavourful. Lamb cumin was as expected. Prawns two style was wasabi mayo and sweet and sour. I would come again especially for the duck."
"Interesting to see a young man, quite talented in slicing their delicious roast duck. Would wish for him to put in some more interaction with customer haha otherwise all dishes were decent enough. Their noodles were bland. Definitely give the duck combo a try! Skin is so crunchy and flavourful."
"Delicious Peking duck! The skin was super crispy, and the meat was tender and tasty. Great service and clean place. Highly recommend!"
"Friendly staff, duck meat was amazing and mouth watering. We had a birthday cake and they even offered us the plates and cake spatula"
"Delicious food and personable service at. Beijing Impressions. We feasted here recently with a delicious Peking Duck, wagyu beef and pickled, vegetables and more. Highly recommend it. Go for the Peking duck, you won’t be disappointed! :)"
"Ordered the Premium Roast Duck with duck soup and also the Beijing Style Yoghurt and Cheese. The duck skin was really crispy and fatty, yum. Really enjoyed the Beijing Style Cheese too. Overall a great lunch."
"If you come here and don’t get the duck as part of your meal, you kinda miss out on their specialty. They have someone carve it up right next to you so it comes with a little ‘show’ but because sometimes everyone else is doing it, you do have to wait a bit for your turn. The other dishes were honestly okay with no real wow factor but they were fine. They do need to provide a bit more filling for the duck pancakes as you will find yourself with limited amount of pickled vegetables, spring onion etc but you can ask for more thankfully. The place is also well decorated and looks pretty cool to be in and also take note there is also a weekend surcharge so I recommended coming for a weekday dinner."
